Make plans now for Vacation Bible School this summer. New Summit Church invites children in the Lee’s Summit, MO area to SonRock Kids Camp.

The VBS dates will be Sunday July 26- Thursday, July 30th, 2009. Dinner begins at 5:30pm. The VBS program will be held from 6:00-8:00pm. Age Range: Three year olds through those entering Grade 6 in the Fall of 2009-10.

Enter SonRock Kids Camp, where kids build their lives on the rock: Jesus. Based on 1 John 3:1, An outdoor adventure camp like no other. At SonRock campers will learn how their lives can be transformed by God’s great love for them: How great is the love the Father has lavished onus, that we should be called children of God.

Prom season is here, but the price of the big dance means some girls may not go. One group is trying to do something about that with a unique boutique.

"Even in our own church, and we live in a pretty affluent area, there are a lot of struggling families," said Fern Truschke of Woods Chapel Church Prom Boutique.

KMBC's Donna Pitman reported that prom night can cost as much as $500 by the time you add up the dress, the shoes, dinner and a ticket.

But the Prom Boutique gives girls a chance to go to the big dance. "The first reaction, they walk in and say, 'Ah!' I don't know what they expect, but there are a lot of dresses," Truschke said.
