Downtown, particularly South East Main Street is going to the Dogs, the Dog Days of Summer that is.  Friday night, August 21, in conjunction with the Free Friday Night Concert in the park, SE Main Street will be featuring DOGS.  Merchants will have extended shopping hours from 5 to 9 pm and Dog Days Specials.  Pet specific vendors will visit our stores along with face painters, a balloon artist and more.  Save room for a savory hot dog and cool off with a delicious snow cone.

Promptly at 6 pm all visiting dogs we begin a promenade around the block.   Entry for the promenade is a donation of dog or cat food to benefit Lee Summit's Animal Shelter.  Animal Shelter representatives will be present and able to discuss adoption opportunities with you.  Immediately following the promenade your dog will be judges for prizes to be awarded in the following categories; best dressed, most talented, cutest and most challenged (ok, ugliest).

The Free Friday Night Concert will feature KC Cafe Radio's John Dutton (jazz).  Bring the family, including  your pets and join us for a fun filled back to school celebration.
